ASHWAUBENON – There’s a new sports league in town to add some fun to the winter months.
Dodgeball Green Bay at 2740 Packerland Drive officially opened in November, though co-owner Josh Delforge said he and his partners formed a coalition that began in October.
Delforge said the idea has been on his mind for a while because he wanted something fun for adults to do in the winter and thought hosting a dodgeball league might be one of them.
“There’s nothing like it in Green Bay, so we decided to give it a go,” he said.

Delforge and Brandon Kucksdorft, who met a few years ago, also co-own Green Bay-based Birds BJS LLC, a company that sells and rents electric scooters. While running that company, they met Scott Christensen, who is now the company’s vice president.
This summer, Delforge, Christensen and Kucksdorf converted an old warehouse they used to store scooters into a 50-foot by 25-foot dodge court.
“This is an elite dodgeball field, this is where the pros play,” Delforge said.
The space also has several TVs, including a large projector that can show football games, movies or TV shows, and tables to sit on when not playing dodgeball. There is also a wet bar, beer machine and popcorn machine.
Delforge said they were licensed by Ashwaubenon Village Council for a liquor license.
“But we’re not a bar – we can only actually hold 49 people,” he said.
Delforge said the dodgeball league is made up of 12 teams of five players, but after obtaining an alcohol license, they only allow eight teams.
“The public (can’t) just walk in and have a drink,” he said. Dodgeball Green Bay “is for people to come here and play dodgeball.”
The only people who can enter the venue are members of the team or family members who come to watch a particular player, he said.
Tournaments are held once a month, every Thursday. Players pay $10 each, and at the end of the game, the winning team receives a medal and approximately $300 in cash prizes each.
In the future, Christensen said they hope to add a corn sack coalition, as well as the ability for groups to rent out space for private events.
The next league match will start on December 1st. 15 to 5 January, although full. Contact the owners through the Dodgeball Green Bay Facebook page to learn more about joining a future league.
