Swaim is a commercial litigation attorney specializing in energy regulation and utilities and appellate law.

Swaim has served on the Loyola Law Review committee and has been recognized for numerous accomplishments, including the Loyola Law Review Warren E. Mouledoux Editor-in-Chief Award and the Professional Responsibility Award.

Chester is a shareholder in the company’s New Orleans office and chairs the government’s enforcement and investigations team.

He has more than 20 years of legal experience in the private sector and the US Department of Justice. Prior to joining the firm, Chester served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice in New Orleans.

He is an honor graduate of Tulane University School of Law.

Briggs has served as Executive Vice President and State Manager since March 2010. Under his leadership, Louisiana Farm Bureau Insurance’s AM Best rating improved from a B+ to an A. Ratings improved despite severe hurricanes causing billions of dollars worth of damage to Louisiana properties. Biggs also helped find a site for the Louisiana Farm Bureau’s new offices. He was actively involved in the design and construction of the building, which opened in August.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from what was then Southwestern Louisiana University.

Brian Budinger Promoted to Vice President, responsible for technical projects Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana.

Badinger joined Blue Cross in 2001. He will be responsible for developing, overseeing and ensuring the successful completion of large strategic cross-company initiatives.

He most recently served as director of corporate strategic initiatives for Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Louisiana.

He received his BA from Southeastern Louisiana University.

J. Christopher Dipper Jr. already joined Gene Miller Served as special advisor to the firm’s downtown Baton Rouge office.

Dippel focuses on white collar criminal defense, government investigations, internal investigations of businesses and organizations, and litigation. His experience includes 10 years as a U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Louisiana, including as Deputy Criminal Chief.

He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his law degree from the Paul A. Herbert Law Center at Louisiana State University. Dippel served as a law clerk to Judge Jay C. Zainey for the U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Evan Scroggs Will lead new Baton Rouge office Lee Law Firm.

Lee & Associates is North America’s largest broker-owned commercial real estate firm.

The Baton Rouge office will specialize in industrial, office, land and retail brokerage, with plans to build a team to grow its capabilities in South Louisiana.

Scroggs has over 13 years experience in office and industrial sales. He was previously a senior consultant at NAI/Latter & Blum.

Dr Aaron DeWitt has been appointed Chief Medical Officer Baton Rouge General’s Midtown Campus.

DeWitt has been with BRG since 2017 as a resident. He has held various leadership positions, including faculty member of the BRG Internal Medicine Residency Program, medical director of the BRG Skilled Nursing Division, and medical director of local assisted living facilities and nursing homes.

He has a master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Mississippi College and a medical degree from American University of the Caribbean. DeWitt completed his internal medicine residency training at Baton Rouge General.

Lou Patalano Has been named Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana.

Patalano succeeds Michele Calandro who announced his retirement after more than 30 years at Blue Cross. Calandro will continue as executive vice president and special advisor to the CEO until his retirement on March 31.

Patalano has more than 20 years of experience in a variety of settings in the healthcare industry, including private practice, payer, provider, and government. Patalano most recently served as counsel to the healthcare practice group of K&L Gates, a fully integrated global law firm with nearly 2,000 attorneys on five continents.

He also served as Chief Legal Officer, Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary of Sentara Healthcare and Optima Health, Virginia-based large integrated delivery networks, and Deputy General Counsel and Vice President of Blue Cross and Blue Shield in North Carolina.
