Boys Basketball: Sales down 18, ahead of Newark Vocational past tech

Miles Sales scored a game-high 18 points to help the Newark Pros beat Tech 57-46 in Newark.

Sales was well-rounded in the win, adding eight rebounds, six assists and six steals to his 18 points.

Leading by eight at the end of the first quarter, the Newark Pros (10-3) won the second quarter 13-4 and led by 17 at halftime.

Trailing by 18 points entering the fourth quarter, Technology (1-14) went 18-11 in the final period trying to find a way back into the game, but ultimately never threatened a comeback.

Ruben Union had nine points, 11 rebounds and a steal for the Newark Pros. Adonis Akande (9 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 assists) and Jordan Love (9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals) also contributed strong performances for the Hawks.

In terms of skills, Tyshawn Young (17 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, steals) and Jakob Gherardy (11 points, 5 steals, 2 rebounds, 2 assists) led the scoring.
