Conference Launches Small Business BOOST Program

Small business owners will receive BOOST payments on Monday, February 1. On the 6th, the Moline Community and Economic Development Department held a kickoff meeting for the New Business Owner Occupation Stability Transformation Program for small business owners and entrepreneurs. The meeting will begin at 6:00 pm in Riverside Hall, Western Illinois University (3300 River Drive, Moline).Doors open at 5:30 pm

The program is designed to provide financial assistance to entrepreneurs and current small business owners, providing tools and skills to help businesses succeed and securing direct funding through forgivable loans. Brick and mortar, home and mobile businesses are all eligible.

Applicants must attend a business-building workshop, work with a project mentor and develop a business plan, according to a press release. The plan will target specific economically distressed areas of the city, such as the Illinois 92 corridor, the 15th and 16th Street commercial corridors, City Avenue, Alder Township and Uptown, and the SouthPark Mall area, the release said.
