Firefighters respond to fire at auto business in eastern Colombia

No one was injured in a fire at a car business in eastern Colombia in the early hours of Friday.

Boone County Fire District crews responded to the fire around 6 a.m. at Copart in the 8400 block of E. Richland Road. Copart’s website describes the business as a vehicle auction.

On Friday, October 10, a Boone County Fire District truck caught fire in the Copart in the 8400 block of E. Richland Road. February 21, 2022.

Firefighters reported that between 8 and 10 vehicles were on fire at the scene. Cruise said the company’s security gates slowed firefighters from approaching the vehicle fire.

There were no reports of damage to any buildings or other structures. An investigation is underway to find out what caused the fire.
