PARIS, Oct 24 (Reuters) – French technology consultancy Atos (ATOS.PA) said on Monday it had been approached by several companies interested in buying its Tech Foundations business.

“According to rumours in the French press, Atos has confirmed that it has been approached by several companies interested in a potential acquisition of its technology-based business since the presentation of its separation plans on CMD on June 14,” Atos said in a statement indicated in. statement.

“The possibility of such a token of interest leading to a transaction is very uncertain,” it added, without naming any interested parties.

Earlier this year, Atos restructured its business around three divisions, with the Technology Fundamentals division defining the company as a grouping of near-mature activities, such as data centres and business process outsourcing.

The other two sectors are digital and big data and security, the latter of which has so far been seen as more attractive for possible acquisition interest.

Shares in the company rose 4.5% in early trade after the announcement.
