Franchise ROC supports potential business owners

Rochester, NY If you want to start a business in Rochester, Franchise Roc is here to support you.

At Wednesday’s event on Jefferson Avenue, the group explained how franchises are a way to get funding, mentorship and support.

Starting a business can be intimidating, and that’s where Franchise Roc comes in. Local business leaders groups say franchising is a good option for those looking to start a new career.

The point is not just fast food chains. The workshop aims to expand local businesses and help fight poverty and crime by providing new franchise owners with life-changing opportunities.

“Unfortunately, a lot of them are in the business, but not the kind of business we want them to be in,” said Roc business owner Randy Henderson. “We want them to be involved in a positive way.”

“You know, franchising my barbershop, could be an opportunity for something of this nature,” said Rochester City Councilman Willie Lightfoot. “So, it’s people who have ideas and choices, people who have existing businesses, And people who might want to start a business but never saw franchising as an opportunity.”

Wednesday, October. On the 19th, Franchise ROC will host another similar event. The hours are 6-8pm at the House of God’s Prayer Chapel.
