GM’s latest venture?repair tesla

GM dealerships have been busy lately…fixing Teslas.

Company PresidentMark Reuss GM service centers are interested in more than 11,000 Tesla vehicles Since 2021.

“So it’s a growing business for us,” Royce told analysts.

“It’s a new business and it’s great.”

Reuss did not elaborate on the type of work being done on the vehicle, and GM did not respond to FOX Business’ request for more details.

Tesla has been expanding its service offerings over the past two years, but it still has hundreds of locations compared with GM’s thousands of dealerships.

According to GM, its service centers are within 10 miles of 90% of the US population.

“That’s why Tesla is investing millions of dollars now to replicate the physical service centers we already have,” Reuss said.

Tesla also employs a mobile service fleet and technicians who can perform some repairs at customers’ homes. in June, Tesla CEO Elon Musk Tweet: “Working on Tesla North American service. Goal is 2/3 cars get same day service, no wait.”

In addition to the revenue dealers earn from work-in-progress, the company also benefits from free advertising generated by Tesla owners displaying its lineup in showrooms, Reuss said.

“It’s a big deal for us,” he said.

GM currently has four all-electric models under its brand, but will add at least six more by early 2024 as it aims to reach North American production capacity of 1 million vehicles a year by 2025.
