IIT Ropar signs MoU with Punjab University to strengthen technology development ecosystem

IIT, Ropar and Punjab University Chandigarh today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration and support scientific and technological activities.

“The MoU, which brings together the R&D strength of two renowned institutions with industry expertise and experience, will help provide technological solutions to scientific problems in industry and academia, and will also help build a strong and dynamic innovation – driven technology development ecosystem,” commented Professor Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar, at the signing of the MoU.

The two institutions will work together to lead the technology (S&T) cluster in the region.

The Science and Technology Cluster is guided by a ‘Cluster Supreme Council’ chaired by Vice-Chairman (VC) NITI Aayog with secretariat support from the Office of the Chief Scientific Advisor (O/oPSA), Government of India. Prof. Manu Sharma from PU, Chandigarh and Dr. Pushpendra P Singh from IIT-Ropar will act as coordinators to implement, monitor and review the collaborative programme.
