iMFLUX becomes the first injection molding technology to be certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL)

Hamilton, Ohio –(Business Wire)–iMFLUX today announced that its injection molding technology has received Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certification, demonstrating three key sustainability benefits of the technology. UL Verification is an objective, science-based assessment that confirms the accuracy of marketing claims. UL Verified: “iMFLUX saves up to 15% energy, reduces part weight by up to 4%, and automatically accommodates ± 52% MFI material excursion.”

Mary Wagner, CEO of iMFLUX, said: “Validation like this ensures that as injection molding customers rethink their strategies to achieve a circular economy, iMFLUX will deliver key benefits related to their operations and sustainability goals.”

The iMFLUX system consists of software, pressure sensors and a user interface and can work on virtually any injection molding machine, material or mold. iMFLUX’s adaptive process technology injects material into the mold at a low constant pressure through a closed-loop feedback system. By turning on iMFLUX and switching from high voltage, decoupled processing to low voltage constant voltage, energy savings can be achieved immediately. The low-pressure injection molding process fills the mold slowly, allowing the material to cool, densify, and pack as it fills, resulting in lighter parts.

Additionally, the iMFLUX system features Auto Viscosity Adjust™ (AVA). This feature allows seamless adjustments to the injection molding process to accommodate any source of variation identified by the pressure sensor. Without operator adjustment, the injection molding machine can automatically adapt to significant melt flow changes and continue to produce quality parts.
