Man shot in Hartland business car park before hiding in Sussex home

“Hartland Police were dispatched to a business on Richards Road after a male suspect opened fire in the parking lot,” Misco said.

The man left the scene in a vehicle and was eventually seen by Waukesha County Sheriff’s deputies in the village of Sussex. A chase began, Misco said.

“The suspect drove to his residence in Sussex Village, where he locked himself in,” Misco said.

Two counts of reckless endangerment of safety with a dangerous weapon in the first degree and two counts of criminal damage to property will be forwarded to the Waukesha County District Attorney’s Office, Misco said.

The sheriff’s office said charges will be filed for resisting/obstructing officers and fleeing/evading charges.
