Nationally renowned business magazine features Lancaster Airport

Central Pennsylvania (WHTM) — Lancaster Airport (LNS) was recently featured in the latest issue of Business View magazine to highlight the airport’s “impressive upgrade.”

upgrade

A major upgrade the LNS is undergoing involves one of its main runways. The LNS has a total of two asphalt runways, the airport’s largest/primary runway, runway 08-26, and runway 13-31, which is used as a secondary crosswind runway. Currently, the LNS is undergoing repairs to its main runway 08-26.

to grow

According to Foster, LNS is also working on another construction project — but this one is focused on building new aircraft hangars. LNS is currently constructing a new aircraft hangar for an existing tenant – in addition to having three other corporate hangars in the design phase of construction. In addition to building the hangar, LNS has also leased two parcels of land for other development, as these cannot be used for aviation purposes.

Community

This part of the interview focuses on the role of the LNS in the local community. According to Foster, the LNS is like a funnel that brings opportunities for economic growth and development to the community by connecting to global markets. Foster went on to highlight all of the major businesses that call LNS home, including:

Finally, Foster spoke about LNS’ desire to acquire new air service for surrounding communities, such as adding larger aircraft (126-189 seats) capable of reaching destinations in Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina, among others.

For LNS funding, Foster emphasized the cooperation and assistance of the federal and state governments. He also went on to explain why funding airports has always been a challenge, but LNS is using creativity to achieve their goals – while forging new partnerships to help spur growth.

LNS is located in Suite G, 500 Airport Road, Lititz, on 850 acres between Harrisburg and Philadelphia. According to Foster, LNS is the third busiest airport in Pennsylvania.
