NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A short-term rental business owner has been stabbed to death. No arrests have been made.
Jamal Moore’s future is bright, but it’s too early, his family said.
“There was an empty feeling inside of me, and when I got the news, it felt like my whole world fell apart. It was hard for me to process the information,” said his cousin Christopher Parker.
She said Jamal was like a brother to her.
“He was always a giver and he loved everyone he met. He always made sure he was going to help you in any way he could,” Parker said.

Jamal’s body was found Saturday afternoon on the grass in the Cherokee Boulevard parking lot near Tom Joy Park. Officials reported that he had been stabbed to death.
Police responded to the scene shortly after, receiving a second call several miles away. An SUV related to the case was dumped in the parking lot of a self storage facility in the 1200 block of Gallatin Avenue. According to police, it appeared to have blood on it.
“It’s hard because he’s very loving. So, it’s hard for me to imagine anyone wanting to do that to him,” Parker said.
Jamal’s friend Victoria Orr said he has short-term rentals in North Carolina and Nashville. He lived on Cherokee Avenue when he was in town. She will miss his humor.
“He was everything, the moment you met him — you fell in love with him,” Orr said.
Now, Crystal and Victoria hope to catch the killer as soon as possible so they can have answers.
“We just want to understand the situation, we just want to know what happened,” Parker said
Surveillance cameras from the Metro Nashville Police Department have been placed nearby. If you know who killed Jamal, please call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
